Summer Artventures!
A site was created by the '09 program staff to share highlights of our summer. We are excited to record our experiences creating and developing the program and hope you will enjoy this website. Like ArtVentures, it is a collaborative experiment.

Look what we found!
Just after being introduced to this new medium in the studio, Artventurers make an incredible discovery on the trail: a source of natural charcoal!
Wonder if it, too, can be used for sketching?
Taking a page from Alexander Calder.Science is used in the service of art in this kinetic sculpture, which is perfectly calibrated so the human figure on the left and the “goldfish jar” on the right balance in the air.
Out on an excursion, stopping to take a close look at a log by the side of the trail.
Peter helps younger students by writing down the titles of their sculptures before the Artventures exhibition.
We feel it is important for children to have open-ended time and ready access to art materials. This way, they can afford to experiment and try something new without worrying about “wasted” paint.
